The rebrand was born from a deep, persistent pull I felt to create something more elevated, more intentional, and infinitely more aligned with who I am as a creative and what my soul craves to put into the world. It wasn’t about chasing trends or trying to fit into someone else’s definition of success or choice of aesthetic. It was about having the courage to bring the vision that had been quietly growing in my heart for months to life.

For months, I found myself caught between two worlds: the comfortable familiarity of what KBD had always been, and this vision of what it could become. I felt this undeniable push to create a more elevated, niched experience that genuinely lit me up from the inside out and made me proud to show up every day. But more importantly, I wanted to attract the kind of creatives who were ready to go all in, those creative souls willing to trust that their brands were in the most loving, capable hands because when you work with people who are passionate about things as you are… that’s where magic happens.

I craved the kind of work that made my heart race (in a good way!), the projects that kept me dreaming creatively, and the clients who understood that great design isn’t just about making things pretty, it’s about capturing the essence of a dream and translating it into something tangible and magical.

Why I Rebranded

This transformation took months — a rebranding journey full of late nights, moments of doubt, and breakthrough revelations that reminded me why I fell in love with design in the first place. This fresh chapter for KBD is refined and elevated, yet still as whimsical as ever, now infused with our signature playful magic.

I’ve poured my heart into every corner of my brand, creating a space that truly reflects the essence of KBD, where creativity meets strategy, and every single design tells a story worth telling…

I’ve learned that the truest inspiration isn’t just what you see on a screen or in a perfectly curated Pinterest board. It’s found in those little things that make you uniquely you: the way mid-monring sunlight shines on the bay on your walk downtown, the vintage perfume bottles arranged near your grandmother’s jewelry box, the feeling of fresh sheets on Sunday morning, or the way your heart skips when you see something that perfectly captures a feeling you couldn’t quite put into words.

The Questions that Changed Everything

The desire to rebrand didn’t just magically turn into a clear vision overnight.

It took sitting down with myself, completely alone, with no distractions, no phone buzzing, no endless to-do list staring at me. Just me, a pal to bounce the bad ideas off of to get to the good ones, and the courage to ask myself the hard questions.

When I started this process, I opened Notion and poured out my thoughts about what felt right and what needed to change. I asked myself questions like:

• What kind of work lights me up?
• What would I create if I knew I couldn’t fail?
• Who do I want to serve, and how do I want them to feel when they work with me?
• What would my business look like if this rebrand was a perfect reflection of my soul?
• What am I afraid to dream because it feels too big, too magical, too me?
• What will attract my ideal clients in a way that enchants them, but walks the fine line of being whimsy and feminine, but not childish?

Some of these questions made me uncomfortable and I overthought them for hours, but others? I knew the answer right way. Every single moment of this soul-searching brought me closer to the vision that I was trying to create.
