So you’ve decided you need a website, but where do you start? Outsourcing web design can be overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be! By preparing ahead of time, you’ll be set up for success and start attracting your ideal customers in no time.

Before Hiring Out Web Design, Consider Copywriting

Let’s be honest… Without copywriting, design is nothing. Copywriting is essential to getting your message across to clients and ensuring it’s delivered successfully. Before you inquire with a designer, you’ll want to consider your options when it comes to the written content for your website.

The first thing you need to know – designers don’t always offer copywriting services as part of their web design packages. Some designers offer it as an add-on service, some will provide you with a guide and you’ll write it yourself, and some will direct you to hire another service provider who specializes in copywriting.

It’s important to remember that in order to have great SEO (a common goal for business owners looking to outsource web design!) you must also invest in copywriting or be darn good at it yourself.

Copywriting is an investment too. It’s not something that should cost you a small amount if you want it to be successful and done the right way. If you want to achieve certain goals with your website, are short on time, or want your site visitors to have all their questions about your brand answered, outsourcing is the way to go. There are many copywriting experts in the world, and your designer is sure to have their top choices on hand to recommend.

Wondering how I go about copywriting with my clients?

On every discovery call, I ask my clients questions about their goals and expectations for our project. When a client decides that outsourcing copywriting is an additional investment that’s right for them, I have a couple copywriters I direct them to that I’ve had experience working with, with lots of success!

For clients with a more limited budget, I offer a Content Writing Workbook available as a Notion Dashboard. In the workbook, you’ll take time to answer different prompts about you and your business and I’ll write the content for you based on your responses. Want to learn more about this process? Head to this post to see if the Content Writing Workbook is the way to go for your biz.
