As your business grows, there sometimes comes a point where your brand and website stop reflecting the level of magic that youโre actually operating at. You refine your offers, raise your prices, and attract better-fit clients, but your visuals and online presence? They still feel scattered, dated, and a bit random.
That inconsistency not only affects how things look, it affects how people experience your business. It can make your offers harder to understand, your services harder to trust, and the next chapter of your business harder to step into.
Hiring one studio as both your brand and website designer changes that!
When a single creative partner handles your visual identity and your website, youโre not just getting two separate services. Youโre building one cohesive, strategic system that supports how you want to show up, how you want clients to feel, and where you want your business to go next.

Your brand and your website are deeply connected. Your brand defines how you present yourself with visuals, messaging, personality, and positioning while your website is where that identity becomes practical and interactive. It’s where people learn about you, explore your offers, inquire, and purchase.
Treating them as unrelated projects can often lead to less than magical results.
When you work with different people for each part, or mix DIY efforts with occasional outsourcing, each person only sees their slice of the picture. Even if the individual pieces look โgood,โ they donโt always work together in a clear, intentional way.
Instead of ending up with a collection of separate design choices, you end up with a unified system. Your brand and website feel like they clearly belong to the same business at the same stage of growth.
Hiring one studio for both branding and web design means visual consistency, but it also changes how you make decisions, how you show up, and how your audience interacts with your business.
First, your strategy is actually used.
During branding, we clarify your message, your point of difference, your values, and how you want people to feel when they encounter your business. When the same person then designs your website, those decisions guide everything from your website header and page hierarchy to your calls-to-action and content placement. Nothing is random.
Second, your visuals become intentional and repeatable.
The color palette chosen to convey a specific mood is used across your website buttons, backgrounds, and accents. Typography choices appear consistently in headlines, body copy, and navigation. Supporting elements like icons, illustrations, or patterns are designed to work across your site, social media, and marketing materials.
Third, your client experience improves from start to finish.
Think about a potential client who discovers you on social media, clicks to your website, reads about your services, joins your email list, and eventually books or buys. When one brand and website designer has shaped that full experience, the steps feel connected and clear. There are fewer mixed messages and fewer opportunities for confusion, and more opportunities for enchanting them from the very first interaction.
And finally, you feel more confident and organized.
With a cohesive brand and website, youโre not constantly questioning whether something fits. You have clear guidelines, a site that reflects your current level, and a design partner who understands how it all works together. That clarity gives you mental space to focus on your actual work and your clients.
Gather and Knot is a great example of how things can change when one studio handles both branding and web design.
Before we worked together, Gather and Knot was doing what many product-based businesses do at the beginning: using Canva for quick visuals, selling through an Amazon storefront, and relying on basic, DIY Shopify solutions. Customers could technically shop and place orders, but the overall presentation didnโt reflect the quality and personality of the brand.
The visuals felt generic, the shopping experience felt more functional than special, and te brand story and care behind the products werenโt coming through in a strong, memorable way.
The business had grown, but the design and website hadnโt evolved with it.

We started by creating a brand identity that felt current, distinctive, and true to the Gather and Knot story. We focused on building something that felt like it could support the business for years, not just a quick refresh. The new identity captured the personality of the brand while giving it a more polished, elevated look.
From there, we moved into web design, carrying that same strategy and style directly into a custom Shopify site. We didnโt simply plug the new logo into an old framework. We rethought the experience. Custom illustrations were used to explain how the products work, outline size options, and highlight key features in a clear and friendly way. The layout and navigation were designed so browsing and purchasing felt straightforward and natural.
To make sure the new brand was visible beyond the website, we also created social templates and thank you cards for orders. Every part of the customer journey from first impression to unboxing started feeling consistent and intentional.

โMy experience working with Kylie on my site was absolutely seamless and I couldn’t be happier. Kylie took a jumbled bunch of words and ideas and made them come to life. I now have a look and feel that I know will be around for years to come! She is ridiculously talented and I’m so lucky to have found her!โ
Because Kristel hired us as both her brand and website designer, there was no gap between the identity and the site. The branding informed the web design. The website reinforced the branding. Customers now encounter a clear, cohesive experience that reflects the true magic of the business.
Water Camp, a group of rental cabins on Torch Lake in northern Michigan, had a different business model but a similar challenge.
They had a simple, Canva-created brand and were relying completely on Airbnb for bookings. Guests were still finding them and enjoying their stays, but their online presence didnโt accurately represent the experience they were offering.
The cabins and the setting felt special and memorable in person, while their digital presence felt more like a standard short-term rental listing.
Water Camp wanted to position themselves as a more boutique, intentional stay. They also wanted more control over their bookings and direct relationships with guests, instead of being dependent on a third-party platform.

To do this, we started with their brand identity. Together, we built a visual and verbal direction inspired by childhood trips to the lake: exploring outdoors, long days in the water, and relaxed, easy time with family and friends. That feeling guided our choices for color, type, textures, and small illustrative elements.
Next, we designed a custom website on Showit and integrated a direct booking app. This shift was strategic as well as visual.
Moving toward direct bookings allowed Water Camp to reduce platform fees, improve their margins, and build a direct connection with guests before and after each stay.
Because one studio handled both the brand and the website, the design language and messaging carried through naturally. The new visuals showed up on the homepage, in the gallery, on the cabin detail pages, and throughout the booking journey. Information was laid out in a way that was easy to understand and matched what guests were actually asking about.
The results were both qualitative and quantitative. Water Camp finally had an online presence that matched the actual guest experience and they saw real shifts in how people booked and interacted with the brand:
โSince creating our website and launching direct booking, we have moved from 100% Airbnb bookings to 40% direct bookings (60% Airbnb) in about 2 years. We also have over 1000 email subscribers so thatโs a really significant marketing segment as well.โ

โThroughout the entire process, I was continually impressed with her consistent communication and grasp of my brand. Not only did Kylie take the time to understand every aspect of our hospitality business thoroughly, but she was also incredibly creative in the way she brought my vision to life. She is detail-oriented, thoughtful, and organized, and working with her was just what we needed to solidify and elevate our brand!โ
Here again, the key factor was having KBD as both the brand and website designer leading the full process. The same person who helped clarify the story was the one designing every page and touchpoint, which kept the experience focused and consistent.
When you compare projects like Gather and Knot and Water Camp, a pattern emerges. In both cases, choosing one studio for branding and web design simplified the process and elevated the outcome.
A few core reasons this works so well:
Vision and execution stay aligned.
Strategy carries through every decision.
Your brand feels consistent everywhere.
You build a long-term creative partnership.
At Kylie Buss Design, this is exactly why I mostly only design websites for clients who have also gone through our branding process. This approach isnโt about limiting access, itโs about protecting the quality and effectiveness of the final result.
When your brand and website are designed together, they can support each other properly.
If your business is growing but your visuals and website still feel temporary, inconsistent, or leftover from an earlier stage, thatโs a clear sign something needs to shift.
You donโt need to have everything figured out before you start. You simply need to know that the way youโre currently showing up online doesnโt match the standard youโre holding for your work anymore.
By hiring one studio as your brand and website designer, youโre choosing:
If youโre ready for your brand and website to reflect where your business is now (and where itโs going next), Iโd be happy to explore what that could look like together.
